The idea for The Annihilator started in France which is fitting because France is the birthplace for the Boulonnais drafter. This idea developed into a project of monumental proportions, sold out and became a huge success even before I was finished with the original sculpture. Because this horse was intended for a unique custom resin, I put a lot more into him than I would for a resin edition. It made him a lot more difficult to produce, but the end result has made him one of the most exciting resins to ever hit the model horse market!
I am confident that he will become a wildly sought after resin because I only offered a handful of them to the public. Because of this, I am offering up one of these unpainted Annihilator resins from a canceled order. I know that someone will be glad that there is still a chance for them to get one of these guys. He is a big guy and bad to the bone. In fact, his acronym, B.A.D. stands for Boulonnais Angry Drafter! He is hollowcast with museum quality polyurethane resin with stainless steel reinforced legs and tail. He comes with the Magne-Click technology, 2 round steel discs for bases and a full color COA suitable for framing.
The Annihilator has incredible details right down to the indentations on his teeth. I even sculpted the wolf teeth which was incredibly tricky to do since they are way back in his mouth (the small teeth in front of the molars). I also gave him large canine teeth which helps with his angry attitude, but has already caused trouble with a painter! The Annihilator, being true to form, bit the first painter, Mindy Berg while she was working on him. I have never known a resin to bite a painter before but it seems appropriate for him to do just that.
The photographs that I included for reference are of my #1 Artist's Copy in the unpainted and "Work in Progress" painting state which is being hand painted by one of the most talented new rising stars in the hobby, Mindy Berg of Spruce Mountain Studio. I was so excited to see the "work in progress" photos of the first Annihilator resin being painted, that I could not help but share him with people so they could get an idea of how commanding a presense this guy really has! The actual resin which I am offering up is slightly different from the AC #1 in the reference photos. I added some more hair to the end of the middle of the tail, some more hair on the off side of the tail and a bit more mane which attaches to his barrel. Other than these changes, the resins looks the same.
If you do not have feedback and wish to bid on this resin, please email me first before placing a bid. We do not accept bids from bidders with a low GPA. If you have any questions regarding this or any of my other auctions, please feel free to email or call me. This auction is for an unpainted Annihilator resin. Good luck bidding! Seller Disclosure. |
